Interested in history, mystery, and a well-told story? Join us at Hoyt Library as we listen to author Dave Vizard and his presentation "When History Meets Mystery," a look inside the creation of a work of fiction based on a Michigan historical event – the sinking of a steamship in Lake Huron in 1871.

Dave Vizard is the former managing editor of The Bay City Times and editor of True North Magazine. He has a BA degree in journalism and a Masters in mass communication. He has taught journalism and writing at the college level.

Dave has written and published six novels. They are part of a murder mystery series, focusing on the exploits of news reporter Nick Steele in the Great Lakes Bay and Thumb regions of Michigan. His books are available via Amazon and Kindle.
