Program Description

Description

Our book for April is the play Medea by Euripides, written in 431BCE.  Medea is a witch who takes a horrific revenge on her husband when he tells her he is leaving her.  Get a good bottle of Greek wine and read it all in one sitting, and imagine it is being performed for you!  Buy the Penguin edition with the black cover, titled Medea and Other Plays, translated by Philip Vellacott, and then we can read all four short plays in the collection.

Join us for a lively discussion of a book about Greek Mythology!  Try to reserve your copy from the library, or order your copy of the book from a site like Amazon or similar and come to the meeting with questions, comments, observations, or just have the book with you!  No pressure, and a good time learning about mythology is guaranteed!
