Great Books Book Club

Our book for May is Light in August by William Faulkner, set in the early 20th century American South, which tells the story of Joe Christmas, who eventually becomes a fugitive in the small town of Jefferson, Mississippi.  The book also weaves in the stories of the other townsfolk, and explores issues of race, identity, and societal pressures.
