Friends of the Public Libraries of Saginaw Annual Meeting

Are you a member of the Friends of the Saginaw Public Libraries or interested in joining?
We welcome all members and potential members to attend our annual meeting! In
addition to taking care of a few brief business items, we'll have an informative presentation
by Alex Mixter.

Alex Mixter is a community filmmaker and advocate in his hometown of Saginaw,
MI. After living and working in Chicago and Denver, Mixter returned home and started
Hound Lab Films, which specializes in producing content with an emphasis on local activism
and community. His first feature-length documentary, RE: SAGINAW, premiered in May
2017. The film put a spotlight on the pending demolition of the historic Charles Lee
Mansion, which has since been halted. Mixter is currently the project manager and
marketing developer for the Lee Mansion Restoration Project. More recently, he is pursuing
new frontiers of non-profit community development, utilizing historic infrastructure as a
form of economic development and social justice

This is a great time to learn more about the Friends of PLOS and everything we do to help
Hoyt, Butman Fish, Wickes, and Zauel libraries.
