Program Description

Description

The tragedies and triumphs that took place in Alabama during the 1950s and 1960s awakened an entire nation to the reality of racial injustice and hatred that affected African-Americans all over the country. Today, museums and historical sites commemorate the legacy of those who enacted change.

In an effort to learn from history, Saginaw resident Elinor Saunders took a Civil Rights Tour through historical sites in Birmingham, Montgomery and Selma, Alabama during the fall of 2022. She will share her experiences at Zauel Library on Saturday, February 18 at 3 p.m. This presentation will run about one hour and is suitable for teens and adults.
